This is a senior technical role focused on dimensional measurement, vision-based metrology systems and customer application support.

You will act as a key technical resource for customers, sales teams and internal product development.

Responsibilities for Senior Metrology Engineer As Senior Metrology Engineer, you will provide technical expertise across measurement applications, system setup, calibration and product development.

You will work with both hardware and software, helping customers achieve accurate and repeatable results.

  • Provide expert support on dimensional measurement and vision-based metrology
  • Set up, test and calibrate optical and vision measurement systems
  • Advise customers on measurement methods, tolerances and accuracy
  • Support demonstrations, training and technical problem-solving
  • Work with design teams to support new product development
  • Mentor less experienced engineers within the metrology team
  • Travel to customer sites in the UK and occasionally overseas Requirements for Senior Metrology Engineer The ideal candidate will have at least five years’ experience within metrology, dimensional inspection or measurement applications.

You should understand the principles behind measurement accuracy, tolerances and repeatability, rather than simply operating equipment.

  • At least five years’ experience in metrology or dimensional inspection
  • Strong understanding of measurement principles, tolerances and accuracy
  • Experience with optical, vision-based or non-contact measurement systems
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and advise on measurement methods
  • Practical experience setting up or calibrating measurement equipment
  • Strong customer-facing communication and technical problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to work primarily on-site near Woking and travel when required Desirable Experience for Senior Metrology Engineer
  • Experience using Met Logix M3 software
  • Background with vision systems, optical comparators or CMM equipment
  • Experience in an Applications Engineer, Metrology Engineer or technical Service Engineer role
  • Product development or design engineering support experience
