We are looking for a HGV Fitter who is reliable, highly skilled and motivated to get the job done, to join our West Thurrock Team.
Purpose of the role
To be responsible for inspecting and maintaining the company’s fleet of HGV trailers and vehicles, adhering to the required legal standards for vehicle safety. To be responsible for routine servicing and repairs such as brakes, gearbox, and clutch repairs ensuring work is always undertaken to the highest standards.
This position requires the following experience and qualifications:
- ADR experience and knowledge
- Previous experience in heavy vehicle maintenance, repair and diagnostic
- Previous experience working in a busy HGV Workshop
Key Accountabilities
- Service and inspect all vehicles to VOSA standard
- Diagnose and rectify faults that may arise
- Identify and order parts, when and as required
- Carry out breakdown when necessary
- To complete and maintain all documentation on the company’s vehicle maintenance system
- Keep all workshop facilities, tools and other equipment clean, tidy and well maintained
- Ensure PPE is worn correctly and appropriately
- Ensure work is always undertaken to the highest standard
- Ensure compliance with all contractual employment obligations
- Ensure compliance with our ISO standards
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements at all times
