The Presales Solution Architect Energy, Utilities and Resources will serve as a trusted solution advisor throughout the sales cycle, collaborating with the sales team, prospects, and existing clients to uncover challenges and design compelling solutions using IFS’ Industrial AI solutions. This role is key in demonstrating the positive outcomes of our product suite to prospective clients across the Europe West region.
You will need to be comfortable having close dialogue with external stakeholders, including C-level, technical management, and architectural teams to position IFS as the partner of choice for the adoption and enablement of IFS solutions in the Energy, Utilities and Resources industry vertical. Our customers are typically mid-to-large asset intensive enterprises managing key infrastructure, such as Energy & Utilities, Water, Oil & Gas, Mining, and more.
In this role, you will develop industry and solution knowledge to become a trusted advisor and key technology ambassador for our customers and prospects. As this is a customer-facing role focused on providing complex solutions, you will need to be comfortable working in a multi-faceted role that will include:
- Demonstrating industry thought leadership in customer engagements
- Delivering impactful product demos and executive briefings (virtual and on-site)
- Designing enterprise-level technology solutions
- Providing solution leadership in the sales process
- Engaging with the industry at external events
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and delivering engaging product presentations and tailored software demonstrations
- Manage and customize demo environments, scripts, and technical assets
- Collaborate with Account Executives to define sales strategies and close deals
- Build strong relationships with prospect stakeholders and partners
- Represent IFS at trade shows and industry events
- Design enterprise architecture solutions for prospective clients and help them visualize how IFS solutions would fit within their organization
- Influence product evolution through client insights and market trends
Technical Expertise
- Respond to RFXs, scope projects, and support proposal development
- Configuring software for custom demonstrations
- Contribute to internal team development and process improvement initiatives
Industry Thought Leadership
- Active participation in internal and external industry forums
- Translate emerging market trends into actionable sales plays
- Design innovative business-value frameworks that translate complex technical capabilities into compelling outcomes and long-term solution roadmaps
Qualifications
- University degree, equivalent professional qualifications, or appropriate work history
- Significant experience working in presales, consulting, or technical sales roles within the Energy, Utilities and Resources industry
- Comprehensive understanding of the value Service, Project and Asset Management solutions can bring to companies in the Energy, Utilities and Resources industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable solutions
- Ability to translate complex technology concepts into compelling business value propositions for executive and technical audiences
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence and modern software engineering practices is highly advantageous
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong planning and organisational capabilities
- Comfortable operating across multiple functions and geographies in a deadline-driven environment
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
- A willingness to travel nationally - and internationally as needed
