Personal Care Assistants required to support an active and outgoing 34-year-old lady who has cerebral palsy and is a full-time wheelchair user.
A variety of DAY shifts and days available - Weekdays and Weekends. Hours can be discussed and negotiated.
Due to the nature of the role, I require Female only carers. Must be Fluent in English due to my communication needs. Based in Bristol BS11 area. Part-time/full-time posts available. No previous experience necessary; all training provided. £11.44 per hour employed, £15 per hour self-employed.
Example Available Shifts:
- Tuesday 9:30 am – 6 pm
- Thursday 9:30 am until 6 pm
- Friday 9:30 am – 6 pm
- Saturday 10:30 am – 6 pm
- Sunday 10:30 am – 5 pm
What Does the Job Involve?
Main duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing daily personal care and support within my own home and out in the community.
- Day-to-day personal care: assisting with hoisting, washing/bathing, dressing, female hygiene, toileting, and support with eating and drinking, administering medication (guidance provided).
- All domestic tasks: general upkeep of my home, including cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc.
- Driving a medium-sized wheelchair accessible vehicle for trips out.
Full training provided. Nest pension scheme optional. Blue light discount.
About Me
I am an independent, active, and friendly young woman. You will work with me on a 1-1 basis, as I require physical help with all day-to-day tasks. I have many interests including swimming, gym, Zumba, days out, music, concerts, and shows. I take pride in taking care of myself and of my home. I consider myself to be very friendly and have a great sense of humour. If you are a genuine caring person looking to make a real difference to someone’s life, this may be the job for you.
Essential Requirements:
- A full UK driving licence - must be able to drive a manual vehicle (I have my own wheelchair accessible vehicle - Citroen Space Tourer, that I require you to drive, with me clamped in).
- Non-smoker due to my asthma.
- Ideally available for occasional later evening shifts if I am attending a concert or other (notice given in advance).
- References & DBS checks are required.
Other Requirements:
- Have a caring nature and interest in working in the care sector.
- Able to use your own initiative.
- Have excellent timekeeping and organisational skills.
- Be reliable, patient, and trustworthy.
- Honesty and a good sense of humour are essential!
