INDRA DEIMOS is selecting one engineer to be integrated in the GNC/AOCS Competence Centre of the Flight Systems Business Unit to support new growth areas in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC), including Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS) and Failure Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR). The GNC/AOCS Competence Centre is oriented to the design, development, specification, and validation of autonomous systems, including GNC and AOCS systems, for a broad range of aerospace and aeronautical platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Specification, design, implementation, and validation of GNC and FDIR algorithms for satellites, launchers, and re-entry vehicles.
- Specification, design, implementation, and validation of AOCS algorithms for Earth-observation, interplanetary, and ADR/IOS satellites.
- Model-based design, implementation, and simulation of dynamic systems.
- Mathematical modeling, simulation, and validation of GNC/AOCS solutions.
- Trade-off analysis and hardware solution selection.
- Interface with the overall system architecture.
- Technical and management collaboration within the team.
Qualifications:
- Recognized engineering degree (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic) or related degree.
- Strong background in control and simulation of dynamic systems.
- Capacity to understand new concepts and apply them to engineering problems.
- Experience with Matlab and Simulink.
- Postgraduate studies (MSc or PhD) focused on aeronautical/aerospace engineering with a solid background in at least two of the following: Orbital mechanics and atmospheric flight dynamics; Classical and robust control techniques (including fixed-structure H synthesis, analysis, model predictive control); Navigation/state estimation techniques such as Kalman filter; Experience in flight operations in ESA/European program; Theoretical background in GNC/AOCS.
Hybrid working – typically 3 days off. 40 hours/week – Monday–Friday. 36 days holiday including bank holidays.
Working on a rotating basis, the role provides a hybrid working environment that typically includes 3 days in the office and 3 days remote.
