Purpose of Job
To perform specialist hardware and software testing of Micro Nav systems to support internal and customer on-site projects, with a focus on, but not restricted to using automation frameworks. To provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced members of the team to improve their working knowledge of Micro Nav systems and associated testing techniques. This role is full time at 37.5 hours per week.

- Contributor to the software engineering and testing procedures.
- Leads and is responsible for complex testing for internal and customer related projects.
- Acts as focal point for Micro Nav departments or other engineering leaders.
- Mentors more junior Testing team members.
- Influences others to achieve professional advancement.
- Effectively manages complexity and change in the Testing domain.
- Holds full domain responsibility.
- Applies ongoing professional discretion.
- Problem solves in new settings.
- Proactively seeks for improvements within Testing organisation.
- Leads testing in a way that follows best practices and standard procedures as defined by Micro Nav.

Requirements
Technical requirements
- Full working knowledge of the Micro Nav software and hardware offering.
- Experience of testing complex windows and web-based applications.
- Experience of testing third party integrations using test harnesses.
- Experience of best practice software testing techniques including TDD/BDD, UAT, Functional, Non-functional, Performance, Security, Regression, System, and Integration testing.
- Extensive knowledge of the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Working knowledge of test tracking tools such as Jira and Xray.
- Knowledge and use of version control and version control software.
- Knowledge and use of the Windows family of operating systems.
Education & experience
- Degree qualified or equivalent in computing or a related discipline.
- 5+ years' experience.
- ISTQB Foundation Level.
- Extensive experience in use of test automation tools.
- Holds special knowledge or aptitude within his/her domain.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior staff members.
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written forms with customers, integration partners, senior management, team members and other department representatives.
