The Stores and Logistics Manager will be responsible for the effective management of warehouse, inventory and logistics operations, ensuring that materials, equipment and assets are accurately received, stored, tracked, issued and returned in support of operational and project requirements. The role will oversee the day‑to‑day running of the stores function, maintaining robust stock control processes, inventory accuracy and material traceability. Working closely with project teams, suppliers, procurement and operational stakeholders, the manager will ensure materials are available when required and that all inventory movements are accurately recorded and auditable.

We are seeking a practical, hands‑on and process‑driven individual who can establish and maintain an organised stores environment, implement effective controls and support the efficient flow of materials across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day‑to‑day operation of the stores and warehouse function
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, issue, transfer and return of materials, equipment and project assets
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure full traceability of stock movements
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment activities to ensure operational requirements are met
  • Conduct stock checks, cycle counts and inventory audits, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities, including supplier deliveries, collections and equipment distribution
  • Liaise with suppliers, procurement teams, project teams and operational staff to ensure the timely movement and availability of materials
  • Maintain inventory management systems and ensure compliance with established processes and procedures
  • Manage warehouse resources and support the development of efficient stores operations
  • Produce inventory and logistics reports as required
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse, inventory and logistics processes
  • Ensure compliance with company health, safety, quality and security requirements
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Significant experience in warehouse, stores or logistics operations
  • Strong knowledge of receiving, storage, stock control, issuing and returns processes
  • Proven capability in material tracking, inventory management and stock accuracy
  • Good understanding of logistics flows, including inbound deliveries, outbound shipments, replenishments and supplier coordination
  • Experience using inventory management systems, warehouse management systems or ERP platforms
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and managing inventory control processes
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with suppliers, project teams and operational stakeholders
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience leading or supervising stores, warehouse or logistics personnel
  • Forklift licence or experience operating warehouse handling equipment
  • Experience supporting engineering, infrastructure, transport or operational environments
  • Knowledge of asset management, auditing and inventory reporting processes
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements within warehouse and logistics operations
