The Project Indra UK & Ireland has grown from 50 to over 400 colleagues over the past 2 years, with a large TUPE process imminent. We are looking to bolster our corporate and governance team to support both our colleagues and customers as we continue this exciting growth phase.
Role Overview
The Business Lawyer plays a pivotal role in the Group's business development in the Region, drafting, negotiating and helping business units with existing contracts in the Tech sector (defence, ATM, mobility, IT, ...). You will act as a business partner and will help commercial and operation units to develop the Group's business in the region.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to the company's executives, senior management, and board members on a wide range of legal matters.
- Develop and implement legal strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Identify and assess legal risks and provide proactive advice and solutions to mitigate those risks.
- Review, draft, and negotiate various legal agreements, including contracts, partnerships, and licensing agreements.
- Handle and oversee legal disputes, litigation, and other legal proceedings involving the company regarding business contracts.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel, as necessary, on complex legal matters or specialized areas of law.
- Stay up to date with changes in laws, regulations, and industry trends that may impact the company, and ensure compliance.
- Provide guidance on intellectual property matters, including trademark registrations, copyright issues, and protection of trade secrets.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 5 years' post‑qualification experience, gained within a reputable law firm or in‑house legal team.
- Comfortable operating at a mid to senior level, with the ability to manage a broad range of business‑facing legal matters independently.
- Strong experience advising on corporate and commercial matters, including M&A, shareholder arrangements and commercial contracts, alongside exposure to disputes and litigation.
- Able to assess legal risk and provide pragmatic, business‑focused advice to support commercial decision‑making.
- Proven ability to take ownership of a varied workload, managing matters from instruction through to resolution with minimal supervision.
- Proactive and solutions‑oriented, with a clear sense of accountability for delivering timely, high‑quality outcomes aligned to business objectives.
- Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills, able to build trusted relationships across the business.
- Confident in translating complex legal issues into clear, practical guidance and supporting negotiations in a commercial context.
