Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with strong rail Project/rail industry experience, ideally with an engineering background and experience delivering electrical safety, standards, infrastructure, or technology implementation projects.
Essential experience
- Previous Rail project delivery experience.
- Strong understanding of Rail project management processes and governance.
- Experience managing engineering/project teams, ideally supporting a small team of engineers.
- Understanding/appreciation of 25k V OLE isolations is important.
- Experience delivering standards implementation and/or engineering change within Rail.
- Strong project planning experience covering time, cost, resources and deliverables.
- Experience with project reporting and financial reporting.
- Experience in risk management, governance, procurement and efficiency controls.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including working across regional and central Rail teams.
- Experience tracking competence/skills changes and coordinating implementation across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and establish clear priorities
The successful candidate will support several Electrical Safety Delivery workstreams, including:
- SAI25 implementation
- SAI750 implementation
- SAI25000 development
- Capex Works / NSCDs
- Remote Securing implementation
- Optimized Earthing development
- Electrical Safety Culture
The role will involve post-implementation review of SAI25 standards changes, developing project plans, monitoring cost/time, periodic project and finance reporting, efficiency reviews, risk and governance management, stakeholder communication and coordinating queries across regional teams.
