Our globally renowned aerospace & defence client is seeking Industrial Engineers to support Apache Phase Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) operations at Middle Wallop. Reporting to the Production and Support Engineering Manager, the role focuses on improving operational efficiency, supporting production planning, and enhancing process performance within a highly regulated aerospace maintenance environment.

Role Overview

The Industrial Engineer will apply industrial and production engineering principles to optimise workflows, improve operational performance, and support safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of Apache maintenance activities. Working closely with engineering, production, quality, and operational teams, the role supports process improvement, production planning, workload management, and operational analysis across aerospace MRO activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse production, maintenance, and operational processes to identify improvements in efficiency, workflow, quality, and cost performance.
  • Support development and optimisation of manufacturing, maintenance, and operational processes, including work methods and resource utilisation.
  • Assist with production planning activities, including workload balancing, line flow analysis, capacity planning, and schedule management.
  • Conduct process mapping, time studies, and standard work development to improve operational performance.
  • Analyse operational data to identify bottlenecks, constraints, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support implementation of process changes, operational improvements, and updated work instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and operations teams to resolve process-related issues and improve programme execution.
  • Support reporting and planning activities relating to productivity, operational performance, and schedule adherence.
  • Assist with facility layout planning, tooling assessments, and process optimisation recommendations.
  • Use data-driven analysis and industrial engineering methods to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in corrective action activities and process improvement efforts relating to operational inefficiencies or production challenges.
  • Generate Aurora models to support production scheduling and operational planning activities.
  • Develop precedence networks to sequence work activities and manage schedule dependencies.
  • Maintain and update production schedules in support of programme and operational delivery requirements.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience within industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, production support, or operational improvement environments.
  • Strong understanding of process analysis, workflow optimisation, and production system improvement.
  • Experience using operational data and engineering analysis to support planning, process improvement, and decision-making activities.
  • Knowledge of production scheduling, precedence networks, capacity analysis, and workload balancing.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working within dynamic aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, or operational environments.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary engineering and operational teams.
  • Comfortable operating within highly regulated aerospace and defence environments supporting safety, compliance, and operational delivery.
