Our client, a leading player in the aerospace sphere, is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Specialist, electrical-focused, to be based full-time at a key supplier facility in Cheltenham. This site-based role plays a vital part in maintaining and improving supplier quality performance in accordance with the client’s technical and contractual standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct audits and assessments of supplier systems, processes, and products to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Review and verify AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), including specific First Article Inspections.
- Inspect hardware and assemblies (with a focus on electrical wiring and circuit assemblies) for conformity to specifications.
- Investigate and report on non-conformances, including rejected products, escape notifications, and failure reports.
- Evaluate supplier capability and capacity for current and prospective work.
- Support supplier improvement initiatives, including the development of training materials to enhance quality and productivity.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in quality audits and supplier assessments.
- Technical ability to perform source inspections, particularly of electrical components and assemblies.
- Working knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 standards (preferred).
- Understanding of Root Cause and Corrective Action methodologies.
Desirable Experience:
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with AS9102 requirements.
- Background in aerospace supply chain quality or experience within aerospace regulatory agencies.
- Familiarity with developing supplier improvement plans, delivering training, and providing hands-on coaching.
Note: Applicants must be able to work onsite and adapt working hours based on supplier and business needs. Sponsorship for employment visas is not available for this role.
