About the Role: Enterprise Architects will act as senior leaders, shaping and owning the enterprise architecture vision, strategy and roadmaps across business, technology and data. The role focuses on enabling delivery at pace, influencing cross-cutting capabilities, and guiding complex, high-risk architectural decisions across portfolios and programs. Candidates must be comfortable operating at enterprise scale, influencing senior stakeholders, and working across organizational and government boundaries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve enterprise architecture strategy, roadmaps and target states (as-is, to-be, transitional).
- Identify and prioritise enterprise-wide change initiatives.
- Lead architectural decisions across multiple domains and programmes.
- Establish and govern architecture principles, standards and policies.
- Advise on reuse, scalability, sustainability and value for money.
- Assure alignment of business, technology and data decisions to EA strategy.
- Conduct horizon scanning (industry, technology, policy trends).
- Build and develop the architecture community.
- Influence senior stakeholders and mediate complex architectural discussions.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Enterprise Architecture leadership at organizational or government scale.
- Ability to operate across business, technology, data, people and process.
- Strong architecture communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience shaping and governing high-risk, complex architectural decisions.
- Strategic mindset with exposure to commercial and supplier landscapes.
- Proven ability to solve cross-team issues and influence without authority.
- Experience in public sector / defence / large complex organisations (highly desirable).
Mandatory Qualifications:
- TOGAF or ISEB
- PLUS at least one or all of the following: ITIL, IT4IT, COBIT.
