We are seeking an experienced Workday Finance Lead to join a major public sector digital transformation programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping and optimizing a large-scale Workday Financials environment, providing technical leadership across a complex shared services organisation.
As a senior member of the Platform & Products team, you will act as the Workday Financials subject matter expert, leading configuration, design assurance, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Assurance
- Act as the senior Workday Financials expert across modules including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Expenses, Assets, Projects, and Financial Reporting.
- Define and promote best practice for Workday Financials design, configuration, and support.
- Provide technical assurance and peer review of solutions delivered internally and by third-party partners.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term platform roadmap planning.
- Delivery & Continuous Improvement
- Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of complex Workday Financials solutions.
- Oversee system enhancements, releases, and regulatory updates.
- Drive finance process improvement and standardisation initiatives.
- Manage and prioritise workloads across the AMS support function.
- Monitor and improve SLA and KPI performance, ensuring service excellence

- Oversee testing activities including system, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Act as an escalation point for complex incidents and service issues.

Essential Experience
- Significant experience working with Workday Financial Management in a senior configuration, implementation, or support capacity.
- Deep understanding of end-to-end finance processes within large and complex organisations.
- Proven experience providing technical leadership within ERP or Saa S environments.
- Strong requirements gathering and solution design capabilities.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or supervising consultants and analysts.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior audiences.
- Experience working within Agile, SAFe, or hybrid delivery environments.
