The Recruiter plays a critical, front‑line role in attracting, identifying and hiring talent to meet the immediate and future needs of our retail stores across the UK and Ireland. This is a high‑energy, operational recruitment role working at pace within a live retail environment. The role is not only office‑based — it requires regular store visits, direct engagement with hiring managers, and proactive candidate sourcing on the ground. The Recruiter is responsible for delivering end‑to‑end recruitment while ensuring a strong candidate experience, building robust talent pipelines, and responding quickly to changing store priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Talent Sourcing & Retail Recruitment Delivery
- Screen CVs and assess candidates against role requirements, retail experience, availability, and cultural fit.
- Conduct high‑volume candidate calls, appointments, and classifications aligned to current and future store needs.
- Develop and execute recruitment strategies for Sales Assistant and Management roles, using multiple channels (ATS, job boards, social media, referrals, networking, and in‑store activity).
- Proactively source candidates via the internal ATS and external platforms, including visiting stores and challenging locations to attract local talent.
- Stay close to the market to maintain a competitive edge in attraction, assessment, and sourcing.
- Ensure candidates are fully pre‑screened before progressing into store interview stages across the UK and Ireland.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver 1:1 and group interviews, including assessment days and store‑based recruitment activity.
- Manage offers, hiring decisions, and all recruitment administration (offers, contracts, store communications, and hiring paperwork).
- Follow up and support onboarding processes for new starters to ensure a smooth transition into store teams.
- Hiring Manager & Store Partnership
- Work closely with Store Managers, Area Managers, and HR to define role requirements, competencies, and selection criteria.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with all INDITEX UK & Ireland stores, with stores treated as the top priority.
- Maintain regular communication with HR, Heads of Department, and stores to understand hiring pressures and workforce plans.
- Provide insight on local talent markets, availability, and hiring challenges to support decision‑making.
- HR, Projects & Employer Branding
- Design and update job descriptions and interview questions aligned to retail realities.
- Support and deliver employer branding initiatives that reflect the pace, culture, and expectations of store roles.
- Organise and attend job fairs, recruitment events, group interviews, and inductions.
- Support quarterly and annual hiring forecasts based on store trading needs.
- Contribute to the development of policies and best practices for talent assessment and interviewing.
- Represent INDITEX internally and externally at recruitment events, acting as a brand ambassador.
- Manage candidate data in full compliance with GDPR and internal policies.
- Propose and support projects that improve recruitment quality, speed, productivity, and internal brand visibility.
- Ensure all recruitment activity complies with employment law, internal standards, and D&I commitments.
- Talent Pool Management
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date data within the INDITEX ATS and external job boards.
- Build and nurture long‑term relationships with previous applicants and future talent.
- Track and analyse recruitment metrics to maintain a healthy talent pool and continuously improve sourcing strategies.
- Candidate Experience
- Deliver a positive, efficient, and transparent candidate journey from first contact through onboarding.
- Maintain clear and timely communication on interview stages, timelines, and outcomes.
- Provide candidates with clear information on roles, benefits, salary, and the retail working environment.
- Act as the first point of contact for candidates, ensuring professional, consistent, and supportive candidate care.
