Human Resources Manager UK

Full time Position

Reporting to: Head of HR

Purpose

To manage the most important resource within the organisation, always striving to develop the stores’ teams, optimising personnel costs and ensuring stores effectively implement human resource policies and procedures to support the needs and strategy of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • People focus, responsible for delivering an excellent HR service.
  • Evaluate employees to determine how well they are fulfilling their job and whether they are meeting company standards for professionalism and work performance.
  • Ensure policies and procedures of the HR Policy Manual are implemented and advice given as required.
  • Advise store management and employees on ER matters and handle investigations, disciplinary meetings, grievances and appeals where cases are more complex, ensuring that all decisions are fair, legal and consistent.
  • Ensure the effective and timely recruitment of management including new store openings.
  • Ensure that all new stores open with the correct level of staff and profile.
  • Develop training programmes to build teams’ capabilities to ensure employees' training needs are adequately met and run masterclasses per training calendar.
  • Ensure exit interviews and post-hire surveys information is followed up, and the relevant feedback acted upon and circulated appropriately to drive teams’ retention and minimise employee turnover.
  • Ensure salary bandings are applied fairly and consistently through both countries.
  • Undertake projects as required to further improve HR processes, policies and services.
  • Define the hours’ budgets for their Brand, always meeting productivity and personnel cost targets.
  • Monitor, analyse and act on the Brands’ KPI report to achieve business goals.
  • Control overtime, travel expenses and uniform reports (among others) and react accordingly.
  • Review holiday plans against Commercial Calendar and Budgeted Hours.
  • Ensure the template provided for each season is in use.
  • Accountable for making sure company policy is implemented and respected with regards to Health & Safety and staff wellbeing.
  • Work together with Commercial and Operations teams to identify and develop potential managers, define and actively follow up on training plans, performance reviews and promote the store’s teams to sustain region’s succession planning.
  • Collaborate with other members of the field team to achieve regional goals and support stores performance.
  • Ensure store teams maintain a high standard of personal presentation and Company uniform is worn at all times during working hours.
  • Ensure the region is compliant with all company initiatives.
  • Provide input to companywide projects to ensure UK and Ireland can constantly improve performance.
  • Develop and implement recognition programmes to ensure our team retention is industry leading.
  • Look into motivational initiatives to constantly drive and inspire your teams.
  • Ensure that the culture of the business develops in accordance with the Code of Conduct, company best practice and company values.
  • Ensure that the principles of diversity and inclusion are embedded in your work practices and influence those around you.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Relevant experience, preferably in an advisory capacity.
  • CIPD qualified or working towards.
  • Knowledge of current UK employment law.
  • Delivery of presentations and training courses.
  • Experience in a range of recruitment and selection methods.

  • Strong leadership qualities and the ability to set goals and establish performance standards.
  • Ability to travel for substantial periods of time and at short notice.
