Technical Estimator in Kings Langley

This is a newly created role within a newly structured sales function.

There's no worn‑in process to inherit, no predecessor to compare yourself to.

You'll help define how we estimate, how we present and how we win.

As the business grows, so does your role.

We offer real flexibility, including the ability to work from home alongside our Kings Langley base.

The Role

As Technical Estimator, you'll take client requirements and turn them into accurate, competitive technical specifications and priced proposals.

Your work directly determines whether we win projects — and the quality of your estimates shapes the profitability of everything we deliver.

You’ll work closely with our Client Director and sales team, as well as our project managers.

Over time, there is a clear path to taking on your own client relationships — owning the sales process from initial brief through to signed proposal.

• What You'll Be Doing
• Translating client requirements into detailed product specifications and priced proposals using our quoting platform
• Specifying the right systems for each project — control systems (Control4, Crestron), lighting (Lutron, Rako), audio/video, networking, shading and climate control
• Estimating labour and building complete project costs with clear margin
• Responding to tenders for residential developments and commercial projects
• Supporting our small works team with quotes for upgrades and support projects
• Assisting with procurement — right products, right price, flagging savings where possible
• Building estimation tools and benchmarks to make future quoting faster and more consistent
• What We’re Looking For
• Demonstrable estimating experience from construction, engineering or technology integration
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with close attention to detail
• Ability to translate a brief into an organised, accurate specification
• Commercial awareness — you understand that margin matters
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication Experience in AV, smart home or building technology sector
• Familiarity with Control4, Crestron, Lutron or similar
• Experience with tender processes for residential or commercial projects
• Exposure to procurement in a project‑based business
• Performance incentive: commission on the gross profit of won projects

• Based at our Kings Langley head office, with occasional visits to our Amersham showroom and client sites
