We’re looking for a Network Engineer to support and develop our network infrastructure across on‑premise data centres and cloud environments. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll take ownership of day‑to‑day network operations, contribute to deployment activities, and support the ongoing performance, security and stability of our environment. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and cross‑functional teams, deepening your technical capability across networking and security.
What you’ll be doing:
- Configuring and deploying network devices including routers, switches and firewalls
- Supporting the implementation and optimisation of network and security solutions (e.g., VPNs, segmentation, access controls)
- Monitoring network performance, identifying issues and contributing to resolution
- Troubleshooting routing and switching issues (e.g., VLANs, STP, basic OSPF/BGP exposure)
- Supporting network upgrades, patching and maintenance activities
- Using monitoring tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Wireshark) to analyse traffic and performance
- Maintaining accurate documentation, diagrams and asset records
- Participating in incident, change and problem management processes
- Providing Level 2 support and escalation for network‑related issues
- Working with system, security and delivery teams to support new services and changes
About You:
- Solid foundation in networking, ideally at CCNA level or equivalent
- Commercial experience working with routers, switches and firewalls
- Understanding of core networking principles (TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs)
- Exposure to network security concepts (VPNs, firewalls, access control)
- Experience using network monitoring or diagnostic tools
- Comfortable working in a structured, process‑driven environment
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
Desirable:
- Exposure to Fortinet or Cisco environments
- Basic familiarity with scripting or automation (e.g., Python)
- Experience with cloud networking (e.g., Azure)
- Experience supporting data centre infrastructure (racks, cabling, power)
