To achieve the department objectives in line with the corporate strategy and vision, the role holder is directly responsible for continuously improving performance by leading several Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, cost and quality in the most cost‑effective and efficient manner, as expected by internal and external customers, following the Indigo Telecom Group Project Management Methodology.
Principle Accountabilities / Objectives
- Set and meet performance targets (cost, quality, time) while maintaining customer satisfaction with services.
- Drive continuous improvement across the team and assigned projects, ensuring delivery standards are industry leading.
- Act as single point of contact, including escalation for assigned projects/programmes, ensuring cost‑effective solutions are delivered.
- Proactively identify and develop account strategies for key opportunities, leading the cross‑functional internal team to execute them successfully.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as point of contact for assigned projects and provide support to Sales when required.
- Conduct regular reviews of performance measures with the project team.
- Provide escalation point when necessary.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external and internal customers.
- Ensure efficient and effective project handover to operational delivery.
- Own service performance improvement for assigned projects.
- Align services continually with customer needs, adjusting to changing work patterns, workloads and objectives.
- Secure incremental revenue by delivering excellence across all projects and seeking new opportunities.
- Deliver all assigned projects to time, cost and quality targets.
- Ensure all projects are robustly planned to the appropriate level for size and risk, and resources are allocated accordingly.
- Work with the Head of Deployment to drive consistency of performance across the project management organisation.
- Provide support and leadership for direct reports.
- Assist in creating innovative and flexible project delivery strategies with internal teams and third‑party suppliers/partners.
- Resolve conflicts and priority issues to achieve the best outcomes for Indigo Telecom Group.
- Communicate short‑ and long‑term programme goals to the team, ensuring delivery strategies are aligned.
- Support and enhance the order‑to‑delivery process for assigned projects.
- Undertake regular service audits.
- Facilitate engagement in the project management team under the adapted Indigo Telecom Group Programme & Project Management Methodologies.
- Ensure regular project team meetings and milestone tracking.
- Maintain a robust governance regime managing risks and opportunities registers.
- Establish and actively manage a suitable audit (HSE & Quality) programme for assigned projects.
- Manage, control and report the financial expenditure of assigned project budgets.
- Maximise efficiencies and minimise costs through effective systems and processes for project delivery.
- Seek cost efficiency and synergies through best practice application.
- Actively manage variations within projects and ensure customer billing is done appropriately and timely.
- Assist in formulating a cohesive supplier engagement and delivery strategy with Procurement.
- Drive high performance levels within the team.
- Set performance management and development objectives using SMART goals at all levels.
- Ensure regular appraisals, team meetings and one‑to‑one sessions are undertaken.
- Provide career management, coaching and training support.
- Contribute to resource and succession planning.
- Manage leave, absence and HR matters for the team.
- Promote an effective Safety, Health and Environment culture, providing a safe and healthy working environment.
- Maintain a secure working environment in line with the Indigo Telecom Group Security Policy.
Qualifications
- Extensive Project/Programme management background across data centre, networks, fibre skills and IP deployment.
- Commercial awareness and experience of significant bid and business development initiatives.
- Ability to coordinate multiple services and needs from providers, client organisations, customers and end‑users.
- Strong prioritisation skills.
- Track record in ensuring project/service delivery, availability and capacity over time with ongoing value for money.
- Ability to adapt services to changing requirements within agreed parameters.
- Interface with customers, end‑users and providers.
- Maintain effective relationships.
- Education to a degree level is an advantage.
- Advanced Project Management Qualification is an advantage.
- PC literate, especially Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong leadership and project reporting skills.
- Strong financial governance experience.
