About The Role
Reporting to the Head of Cyber & Information Security, the Vetting Assistant plays a key role in supporting Indigo's personnel security and information security compliance activities.
The role is responsible for coordinating security vetting and background screening processes, managing regulated cable system access authorisations, maintaining accurate records and registers, and supporting compliance with customer, regulatory and ISO 27001 requirements.
This is a detail-oriented role requiring excellent organisation, discretion and communication skills, with responsibility for handling sensitive personal information and ensuring security-related proce sses are completed accurately and efficiently.
The position is based at Indigo's headquarters in Magor, South Wales, with hybrid working available where business needs allow.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate and process security vetting and background screening applications for employees, contractors and third-party personnel.
- Manage the regulated cable system access authorisation process from application through to approval.
- Maintain and update vetting, screening and greenlisting registers, ensuring records remain accurate and current.
- Support the management of access permissions in collaboration with the wider CISO team.
- Coordinate periodic reviews, re-screening activities and change-of-circumstance updates, including changes of role, name or address.
- Collect, validate and submit personal information in accordance with GDPR and data protection requirements.
- Respond to internal stakeholder queries regarding personnel approvals and authorised access to cable systems and sites.
- Maintain audit records and supporting evidence for customer, regulatory and internal audits.
- Assist with activities supporting ISO 27001 certification and information security compliance.
- Support the maintenance of facility inspection and compliance records required for audits.
- Build effective working relationships across the business and provide professional support to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and security standards.
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably required.
About You
Essential
- Experience in administration, compliance, security screening/vetting, or a similar records-focused role.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive personal information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Share Point.
Desirable
- Experience supporting security vetting, personnel screening or access control processes.
- Exposure to ISO 27001 or information security compliance activities.
- Experience within telecommunications, critical infrastructure or other regulated environments.
