Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior clinical leadership within the Acute Medical Unit (AMU).
- Manage acute medical admissions, post-take ward rounds and Same Day Emergency Care pathways.
- Support patient flow, early discharge and multidisciplinary working.
- Supervise junior doctors and Advanced Practitioners.
- Contribute to teaching, clinical governance, audit and service development.
- Develop a specialist interest or additional clinical skill, subject to service needs.
Essential Requirements
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
- MBBS/MBChB or equivalent.
- MRCP (UK) or equivalent.
- GMC Registered or CCT or equivalent accreditation in Acute Medicine or General Internal Medicine.
- Extensive experience in acute medical receiving and general medicine.
- Strong clinical leadership, communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.
- Commitment to teaching, audit, quality improvement and clinical governance.
