- Consultant-level or senior experience in Infectious Diseases.
- Candidates with Infectious Diseases, Medical Microbiology or combined ID & Microbiology backgrounds.
- Internationally trained doctors with relevant Consultant-level experience are welcome.
Microbiology Candidates
- The Health Board is open to considering:
- Pure Medical Microbiology candidates.
- ID + Microbiology candidates.
- Infectious Diseases-only candidates.
The balance between Infectious Diseases and Microbiology can be flexible according to the candidate’s experience, although Infectious Diseases training remains the priority.
Overseas Candidates
- Doctors who are not yet on the UK Specialist Register may also be considered, including candidates progressing towards the GMC Portfolio Pathway.
- Internationally trained doctors with Consultant-level experience will also be considered.
Candidates should be able to clearly demonstrate their specialist training, clinical experience and progress towards UK specialist registration, where applicable.
