An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in COTE / Frailty (Geriatric Medicine) to join a progressive and supportive NHS team within a well-established district general hospital in the North West.
This post is ideal for a Consultant with a strong interest in Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA), acute frailty pathways, and multidisciplinary team (MDT) working, looking to make a meaningful impact on patient flow and quality of care.
The Role
- Consultant-led COTE / Frailty service
- Delivery of Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA)
- Management of complex older adults with frailty, multimorbidity, and acute presentations
- Close collaboration with Emergency Department, Acute Medicine, Therapies, and Community teams
- Participation in the General Internal Medicine on-call rota (details available on request)
- Active involvement in governance, audit, teaching, and service development
The Service
- Established frailty pathways and structured MDT model
- Strong integration with acute and community services
- Focus on admission avoidance, early supported discharge, and patient-centred care
- Supportive leadership with opportunities to shape and expand frailty services
Essential Criteria
- GMC Registration with Licence to Practise
- CCT in Geriatric Medicine / General Internal Medicine (or equivalent)
- Experience within Acute Frailty / COTE services
- Commitment to MDT working and quality improvement
