BM Foods is seeking an experienced and motivated Goods In Supervisor to join our busy warehouse and production operation in Avonmouth.
Reporting to the Goods In Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient running of the Goods In department while supervising a team of Goods In Operatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with warehouse, stock control, food production, or logistics experience who enjoys leading people and maintaining high standards of quality, food safety, and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the Goods In team to achieve operational targets.
- Carry out quality assurance checks on all incoming products.
- Complete and maintain food safety, traceability, temperature, and stock control records.
- Schedule, receive, unload, and check deliveries in line with company procedures.
- Book stock into the MCG (Evolve) system and ensure accurate stock rotation and stock management.
- Raise non-conformances for damaged, non-conforming, or out-of-spec products.
- Manage stock issuing to production and oversee product decanting activities.
- Monitor waste, stock disposal, and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure correct product labelling, batch control, and traceability.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across the Goods In area and yard.
- Ensure safe operation of forklifts and pallet trucks.
- Train and support new employees.
- Liaise effectively with Production, Quality, and other departments.
- Assist with loading and unloading vehicles and associated documentation.
What We're Looking For Essential Skills & Experience
- Experience in a warehouse, goods-in, logistics, or food production environment.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Stock control and inventory management experience.
- Good understanding of written and spoken English.
Desirable Qualifications
- Forklift Licence (Counterbalance and Reach).
- Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
- Level 2 Health & Safety qualification.
- Experience using warehouse or stock management systems such as MCG/Evolve.
