Rural Site | 24/7 Operation | Excellent Salary & Profit Share Potential

Are you a hands-on food manufacturing leader who enjoys being close to the operation rather than behind a desk? Would you like the opportunity to shape, grow and future-proof a business, where your leadership and decisions make a visible difference every day? This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an ambitious Operations Manager to take ownership of a small, rural food manufacturing site with a close-knit team of around 60 employees. The site operates 24/7, and an agricultural background or strong connection to primary food production would be highly beneficial.

The Opportunity

This is not a corporate or remote leadership role. You’ll be present on the factory floor, working closely with your team — driving standards, supporting people, solving problems and continuously improving performance. With full site accountability, you’ll play a key role in shaping the culture, processes, sustainability agenda and long-term growth of the business, supported by engaged Directors who value fresh ideas and strong leadership. For the right candidate, we offer an excellent salary and profit share potential that genuinely reflects responsibility, impact and success.

The Role

You will have full responsibility for the site, including:

  • Production, customer service levels and overall operational performance
  • Absolute accountability for food safety, quality and BRCGS standards
  • Health & Safety leadership — with safety always the top priority
  • Leading, developing and engaging the site team, including recruitment and performance management
  • Commercial delivery across efficiency, labour, waste, energy and cost control
  • Overseeing new product launches and key site improvement projects

Sustainability at the Core

Sustainability is a fundamental part of this role. You’ll actively:

  • Reduce waste, giveaway and slow-moving stock
  • Improve energy efficiency and responsible use of resources
  • Embed sustainability into everyday behaviours and site culture
  • Balance strong commercial performance with long-term environmental responsibility

About You

  • Proven experience at General Manager, Factory Manager or Operations Manager level within food manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP and food legislation
  • Commercially aware, operationally focused and detail-driven
  • A visible, approachable leader who leads by example
  • Comfortable working within a rural, close-knit site environment

Why Apply?

  • Shape and grow a business with real autonomy and influence
  • A genuinely hands-on leadership role
  • Excellent salary and performance-related bonus
  • The opportunity to build a sustainable, high-performing operation
