Indigo Food Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cost Management Accountant with expertise in standard costing to join our growing finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping cost visibility and financial performance across our food manufacturing operations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you’ll work closely with on-site finance, commercial, operations, and production teams to:

  • Develop and maintain standard costing systems.
  • Analyse cost variances and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate SKU-level costing to support margin analysis and decision-making.
  • Support stock valuation and ensure alignment with costing models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain robust standard cost accounting systems.
  • Determine and periodically review standard costs for all products.
  • Analyse actual vs. standard costs and investigate variances.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Support the development of cost accounting policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate stock valuation and integration with costing models.
  • Prepare and present cost reports to senior management.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and support process improvements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified (or part-qualified with relevant experience).
  • 3–5 years’ experience in management accounting, ideally in FMCG or food manufacturing.
  • Strong background in cost accounting, product costing, and variance analysis.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, Access, SAP).
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with non-finance teams.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or supply chain finance.
  • Knowledge of sustainability cost tracking or waste reduction.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or other reporting tools.
