Are you looking for a role that’s hands on, fulfilling and within an awesome environment? Look no further. MB Cyclery, one of the UK’s leading independent bike shops, have a rare vacancy for a workshop mechanic!
How are your mechanical skills? Do you love working on your bike yourself and know your way around servicing, building and general repairs? We’d like to hear from experienced mechanics, whether this is your prior profession or not.
The successful candidate will be working on a huge range of bikes, from road, electric, town and MTB. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a wide range of bicycle problems, recommending and selling appropriate parts and accessories, and maintaining accurate records of all repairs and transactions.
MB is known for specialist custom builds, so we have a lot of customers who are looking to build their dream not-off-the-shelf bike. This means every day is different, with all types of servicing done at the most professional level.
An approachable manner, excellent communication skills (to the team & customers) and good telephone manners are essential. You will need to keep the workshop in good condition and ensure we have the correct tools and parts for the job in hand.
We also work with some of the world’s best athletes and you will have the opportunity to work alongside World Cup DH racing from the shop. MB was established in 2017 and it’s been awesome (and busy!) since the doors first flung open. We are independent, so you will be working amongst the team and the owners themselves.
We have a real passion for bikes and we’ve been riding and racing them since kids…they really are our bread and butter. We’d like to hear from people who share this same passion about riding, who are meticulous about their work and strive for the best.
A full-time position with a competitive salary (and other perks) is being offered to the right person, to work 5 days per week including Saturdays (with a day off in the week).
Please email us at admin@mbcyclery.co.uk with your CV and cover letter to apply. We aim to get back to all applications and look forward to hearing from you.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Preferably CYTEC qualified but not essential.
- Must have enthusiasm and some prior knowledge of bike mechanics, demonstrating practice on own bikes or previous bike shop experience.
