Billy Bilsland Cycles is a busy bike shop located in Saltmarket, Glasgow, just across from Glasgow Green. Opened in 1980 by decorated Scottish Olympic cyclist Billy Bilsland, we have been serving the good people of Glasgow and far beyond for over 40 years. We are a family owned, independent bike shop with a proud Glasgow heritage. Staffed by a passionate team of cyclists dedicated to providing our customers with the best possible service and products, we are always looking for talented individuals to join our team.
For this role, we seek an experienced bike mechanic with a passion for riding bikes. Excellent customer service is a must, as is a high level of technical and mechanical knowledge. The successful candidate will be skilled in building and repairing bicycles and hold a Cytech qualification or its equivalent.
Responsibilities:- Build, repair and maintenance of bikes of all kinds
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing bike problems
- Booking in jobs and managing your workload
- Speaking to customers and quoting jobs
- Providing excellent customer service
- Answering emails and phone calls
- Ordering stock for jobs and the shop
- At least 2 years of experience as a Bike Mechanic, ideally on high-end road bikes
- Cytech Level 2 (or equivalent competence)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, proficient at managing your own workload and coordinating with colleagues to get work completed
- You are an experienced mechanic with an eye for fine details and pride in your work
- You have great product knowledge and know how to inform customers of the benefits of those options
- You are highly motivated and get excited about bike stuff
- Your customer service and communication skills are excellent and you have respect for the variety of people you will meet
Salary: Part Time (4 days) - 23.6k+, Full Time (5 days) - 29.6k+
