About Us Indie Campers is the global leader in road-trip travel, operating one of the largest campervan and RV fleets worldwide. With a growing presence across Europe, North America, and Oceania, we are a fast-scaling company on a mission to make travel more connected, meaningful, and accessible to everyone.
The City Lead plays a vital role in delivering this mission locally by ensuring high-quality rental operations, seamless service coordination, and a consistent, customer-centric experience. As the on-site leader, the City Lead drives operational excellence, team performance, and the overall customer journey within their city, acting as the bridge between global standards and local execution.
The Role The City Lead oversees the daily operations of a small depot, executing and coordinating all workflows personally due to the reduced team size and the absence of specialised units (Servicing, RV Sales, Support). This role is 70β80% hands-on, ensuring smooth operational flow, strong customer service, accurate documentation, and reliable fleet readiness. Moreover, the Junior City Lead reports to the District Manager and is responsible for cost control within the depot, including the efficient use of consumables, the prevention of unnecessary expenses, the minimisation of rework, and disciplined operational spending.
Key Responsibilities- Execute and coordinate all rental workflows: check-in, check-out, documentation, and system updates (Including cleaning and maintenance);
- Track daily KPIs;
- Promote ancillary products through value-based selling;
- Conduct basic RV/van checks (battery, water systems, gas, lights, tyres);
- Promptly escalate complex technical or mechanical problems to regional servicing teams;
- Maintain complete accuracy of fleet status and readiness in the operational systems;
- Coordinate daily shifts, priorities, and task allocation across the small team, including demonstrating SOPs and onboarding tasks for new hires;
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of RVs for sales appointments;
- Able to lift or move light-to-moderate items (10β15 kg) and able to stand, walk, and move across the depot for long periods;
- Comfortable performing physical tasks as needed;
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions;
- Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and peak periods, supporting urgent operational needs;
- 2 - 4 years of experience in fast-paced operations, logistics, rental, hospitality, or customer-facing environments;
- Strong hands-on operational capability, with the ability to step into daily depot workflows;
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, and handle physical tasks during high-volume periods;
- Flexibility to work extended shifts during peak seasons, ensuring operational continuity;
- Driving License (Category B) required;
- English proficiency (mandatory) and French (nice to have);
- Being part of a young, fast-growing and innovative company where you make a difference;
- Career development opportunities in Field Operations and transition opportunities to our Offices in Lisbon, Mexico City or Manila;
- Continuous training and coaching to develop the skills that matter to you;
- Compensation package that includes Performance and Referral Bonuses;
- Free Road Trips, so you can experience Indie firsthand trips around Europe, North America and Oceania;
