The Opportunity
Ready to tackle the most complex challenges in energy trading? You will sit at the intersection of deep domain expertise, client leadership, and AI‑powered delivery. You will be the primary face of Indicium AI to our most strategic energy trading clients, responsible for ensuring they achieve measurable business outcomes, while identifying opportunities to grow relationships and expand the scope of our work. This role requires someone equally comfortable advising a Head of Trading on market structure evolution as they are shaping an end‑to‑end solution architecture or guiding a cross‑functional delivery team. You will oversee engagements from early solution shaping through to production delivery, ensuring our work delivers tangible value and positions Indicium AI as a long‑term strategic partner. This isn’t a typical consulting role. You’ll have the autonomy of a high‑growth company while working on enterprise‑scale challenges, going from whiteboard sessions with CTOs in the morning to hands‑on solution design in the afternoon, all while building a consulting practice that will define the industry’s next chapter.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement & Strategic Leadership
- Act as the primary relationship owner for strategic energy trading engagements, maintaining executive‑level relationships with CTOs, Heads of Trading, Risk Directors, and other senior stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
- Partner with senior client stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into actionable solution roadmaps that deliver measurable outcomes.
- Develop compelling business cases that demonstrate ROI and value creation for trading solution investments.
- Support account growth by identifying opportunities to expand scope and deepen client relationships over time.
- Lead client workshops and design sessions to define and refine complex trading solution requirements across multiple energy commodities — power, gas, oil, and renewables.
- Drive thought leadership discussions on industry trends, market structure evolution, and technology adoption strategies in energy and commodity markets.
- Facilitate cross‑functional stakeholder alignment between Trading, Risk, Operations, IT, and Regulatory teams.
- Solution Design & Requirements Management
- Lead requirements gathering for Front, Middle, and Back Office use cases and shape Indicium AI’s approach to building bespoke solutions for these challenges.
- Design end‑to‑end solutions that address complex trading workflows across multiple parts of the business.
- Establish clear success criteria and KPIs for solution delivery, ensuring alignment with client business objectives.
- Delivery Oversight & Practice Development
- Oversee end‑to‑end delivery across strategic client engagements to ensure consistent business impact and on‑time, on‑budget execution.
- Coach and coordinate cross‑functional teams including data engineers, software developers, quantitative analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Monitor delivery health, identify risks early, and implement mitigation strategies across workstreams.
- Promote reuse of Indicium AI frameworks, accelerators, and proven delivery methodologies across engagements.
- Ensure effective resource allocation across projects and drive knowledge sharing to improve scalability and efficiency.
- Support development of the wider Energy and Commodity Trading consulting practice through coaching, mentoring, and contribution to Indicium AI’s thought leadership and go‑to‑market proposition.
