Index Exchange is looking for a Senior Buyer Development Director to lead our Brands Direct efforts across the EMEA. In this senior, brand-facing role, you’ll take ownership of growing our direct brand relationships, developing strategic partnerships, and representing Index as a thought leader in the programmatic landscape. You’ll be responsible for both new business development and strengthening existing relationships, helping top brands activate against premium publisher inventory and maximise their outcomes via our platform.

This is a high-impact, externally facing role with commercial responsibility and a strong focus on consultative engagement, education, and long-term brand strategy alignment. We’re looking for a senior leader with a deep understanding of the buy-side landscape, specifically in direct brand partnerships, and a passion for data-driven advertising.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Brand Strategist : You bring a consultative and strategic mindset to direct brand conversations. You’re able to translate complex programmatic topics into actionable, brand-relevant insights.
  • Commercial Operator : You’re outcomes-focused and confident owning a revenue target. You know how to scale brand relationships while delivering real business value.
  • Cross-Functional Collaborator : You’ll partner with Account Management, Product, Operations, and Publisher Development to deliver solutions that match the evolving needs of the brand ecosystem.
  • Confident Communicator : You’re comfortable speaking to senior marketers and procurement teams, and can own the room whether in a pitch, a QBR, or an industry panel.
  • Technical Credibility : You’re fluent in programmatic, with a strong grasp of DSPs, SSPs, PMPs, and the evolving privacy and identity landscape.
  • Here’s What You’ll be Doing:

  • Own and grow direct brand relationships in the EMEA, serving as the senior point of contact across marketing, digital, and programmatic teams.
  • Develop and deliver data-driven brand strategies that drive meaningful spend growth across our Marketplace.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, conducting strategic QBRs, workshops, and education sessions tailored to brand needs.
  • Work closely with the Index Product and Account Management teams to align solutions with client goals and feedback.
  • Identify and unlock new brand partnerships, leading negotiations, commercial discussions, and long-term planning.
  • Track buyer-side trends and performance, providing market-level insights to both internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Evangelise the Index brand at industry events and through direct partner engagement.
  • Deliver against revenue goals while fostering sustainable, long-term relationships.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support pre-sales, deal setup, campaign execution, and analytics delivery.
  • Here\’s What You Need:

  • 8+ years in digital advertising or programmatic media, with a strong focus on direct brand relationships .
  • Demonstrated experience selling or managing client partnerships at an SSP, DSP, media owner, or leading ad tech platform.
  • Deep knowledge of the EMEA brand landscape and a strong network across key verticals.
  • Excellent commercial acumen, with a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate technical solutions into client value and long-term outcomes.
