Programmatic Buyer Development Manager â Independent Agencies
Index Exchange is looking for a Buyer Development Manager, Independent Agencies to help grow and deepen our commercial relationships across the independent agency ecosystem. This includes independent agencies, agency groups, specialist consultancies, and emerging buyer models shaping the future of programmatic investment. In this role, youâll be responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of independent demand partners, driving revenue growth, increasing adoption of Indexâs buyer products, and strengthening longâterm partnerships. This position blends commercial relationship management with handsâon, consultative engagement and requires a strong working knowledge of programmatic buying, supply path optimisation, and marketplace dynamics.
What Weâre Looking For
- Strategic mindset: You bring thoughtful insights on market trends, supply path efficiency, and Indexâs buyer solutions to support independent agencies in making informed investment decisions. Youâll help shape accountâlevel strategy to drive adoption and longâterm value.
- Collaborative approach: You work closely with Buyer Account Management, Partner Development, Product, and Publisher teams, acting as a key point of contact for your partnersâ needs, performance, and growth opportunities.
- Strong communicator: Youâre comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders across independent agencies, from traders and programmatic leads through to senior investment and commercial decisionâmakers.
- Technical and consultative sales orientation: You use your programmatic expertise and understanding of Indexâs marketplace and buyer product suite to recommend solutions aligned to your partnersâ business goals.
Hereâs What Youâll Be Doing
- Manage and grow a portfolio of independent agency partnerships, building trusted, commercially impactful relationships.
- Drive revenue growth and increased adoption of Indexâs buyer product suite across independent demand partners.
- Provide guidance and education on SPO, marketplace quality, curation, data activation, and supply innovation.
- Own partnership health, marketplace performance, and commercial objectives for your accounts.
- Identify and support new independent agency opportunities and emerging demand channels aligned with Indexâs growth strategy.
- Support forecasting, reporting, and business reviews with internal teams and external partners.
- Partner with Product teams to share market feedback and help inform future product development.
- Track trends across the independent agency landscape and share insights internally to support strategic planning.
- Represent Index at relevant industry events and partner meetings.
- Work closely with Account Management teams to activate agency strategies, deals, and marketplace initiatives.
Hereâs What You Need
- 7â10 years of experience in digital media with strong knowledge of the programmatic ecosystem (SSP, DSP, ATD, exchange, PMP, ad server, etc.).
- Solid understanding of the independent agency landscape, including operating models and buying structures.
- Proven success in buyerâfacing commercial or account management roles within ad tech or programmatic environments.
- An existing network across independent agencies is a strong plus.
- Confidence delivering technical explanations, education, and strategic recommendations to partners.
