We're working with a financial services business looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to take ownership of its data platform.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys getting under the skin of an existing platform, making sure it runs reliably and helping shape its future development.
Your initial focus will be taking over and stabilising the current setup, before evolving the Snowflake lakehouse.
The role
- Own production data pipelines from trading and internal databases, through AWS ECS Fargate and S3, into Snowflake.
- Build and maintain dbt models, including testing, documentation, lineage and CI/CD.
- Work closely with Finance and Risk to support client-money reconciliation and capital reporting data.
- Introduce data quality monitoring and alerts to keep information accurate and reliable.
- Manage Snowflake access, sensitive data masking, performance and costs.
- Deliver governed data marts and Power BI semantic models for reporting and management information.
- Work across Trading, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Marketing and Operations, supporting FCA and GDPR requirements.
What we're looking for
- Experience within financial services, trading or fintech.
- Strong hands-on Snowflake experience, including warehouse sizing, clustering, query profiling and cost control.

- At least two years' experience using dbt in production.
- Python and AWS experience for data pipelines.
- Production Power BI experience, including DAX and Power Query.
- Experience with orchestration frameworks.
- A proven track record of owning production data platforms end to end, with clear responsibility and continuity in previous roles.
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with non-technical colleagues.
Experience with Terraform, Git, Git Hub Actions, Power BI Embedded, Microsoft Fabric or Snowflake Cortex would also be useful.
What's on offer
- Competitive remuneration, with performance-based incentives for permanent employees.
- Career development and progression opportunities.
- A supportive, high-performance team.
