Claims Handler – Wholesale Insurance Broker

Hybrid – 3 days a week in the office

An established and growing wholesale insurance broker is seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join their friendly and professional team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in claims handling and an interest in managing a broad portfolio across multiple insurance lines.

You’ll be responsible for delivering an exceptional claims service, ensuring fair outcomes for clients and fostering strong relationships with insurers and agents. While London Market experience is an advantage, it’s not essential – what matters most is your ability to handle claims with efficiency, accuracy, and a customer-first approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage claims from first notification through to settlement, across a variety of classes including Liability (EL, PL), Professional Indemnity, Property, Contractors All Risks, and Goods in Transit.
• Liaise proactively with clients, insurers, and other stakeholders to provide clear updates, negotiate settlements, and ensure smooth resolution of cases.
• Prepare and process relevant documentation, including ECF/CLASS submissions and monthly bordereaux.
• Instruct external experts such as solicitors or loss adjusters where appropriate.
• Escalate complex or high-value matters to senior management and contribute to departmental process improvements.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in claims handling, ideally with exposure to liability and property claims.
• Knowledge of London Market processes and systems (such as ECF/CLASS) is beneficial but not essential.
• Cert CII qualification (or willingness to work towards it) welcomed.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a sharp eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as independently.
• Organised, adaptable, and able to prioritise effectively in a busy environment.
