Join our team for Christmas at the Botanics!
Heritage Portfolio are currently recruiting for casual team members to join our existing team based at the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh for their festive event, Christmas at the Botanics!
Christmas at the Botanics returns for 2026, bringing an unforgettable illuminated trail that will fill our guests evenings with festive magic. This fabulously enchanting experience transforms the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh into a sparkling winter wonderland trail attracting families, friends and couples to get together for some winter fun. You will play a key role in delivering this unforgettable experience to our guests providing top level customer and guest service based across our selection of food and beverage outlets across the gardens.
We are looking for:
Baristas / Counter Assistants / Bar Staff
What you’ll need:
- Our guests are at the heart of everything we do, so it’s important to have a positive, approachable attitude. You’ll need strong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate great teamwork!
- Great attention to detail, punctuality and reliability.
- 18+ due to the licensing restrictions.
- Previous experience in a similar setting.

- Pay £13.46 per hour, paid weekly, accruing holiday pay as you work.
- Shifts available from November 19th until December 30th, late afternoon/evening shifts.

What you'll do
- Work across our various catering venues within the Gardens.
- Greet and serve customers efficiently with a friendly, welcoming attitude.
- Take orders and handle payments accurately.
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and beverages (training provided but prior experience beneficial).
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the café and catering areas.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist with food preparation, service, and general upkeep as required.
What you'll bring
- Previous experience in a similar setting desirable.
- Positive attitude, being friendly yet professional.
- Well presented, punctual and reliable.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with both team and management around the site.
- A team player with an ability to work in a busy environment.
- Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills.
- 18+ due to the licensing restrictions.
- Experience in dealing with guest complaints promptly and efficiently.
