Kingfisher Veterinary Practice, located in Crewkerne, Somerset, is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join our welcoming and supportive team. With four practices across the region, this role offers excellent variety, giving you the opportunity to work across different sites and enjoy a diverse caseload. A full driving licence is essential as occasional travel between branches is required.
This is an ideal opportunity for a vet who enjoys a rewarding mix of consultations and surgery. You'll see everything from routine first-opinion cases to emergency and critical care, ensuring every day brings something different. Our purpose-built main hospital in Crewkerne is equipped with a comprehensive range of modern facilities, including video endoscopy, digital dental radiography, ECG, multiparameter monitoring, tonometry and a fully equipped in-house laboratory. We also work alongside a visiting orthopaedic specialist, allowing us to provide advanced surgical procedures and an excellent standard of patient care.
You'll become part of a collaborative team of eight Veterinary Surgeons, supported by 18 Registered Veterinary Nurses and a dedicated Client Care Team. With a wealth of experience across the practice, you'll benefit from a supportive learning environment where knowledge is shared, collaboration is encouraged and professional development is genuinely valued.
How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice.
Working Pattern
- Full-time: 40 hours per week across four days
- 1 in 3 Saturday morning rota (8:30am - 1:00pm) on a sole-charge basis
- Part-time applications of 30+ hours per week are welcomed
- No out-of-hours work

- A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
