About the role
We're looking for an experienced HR Administrator to join our growing People team. It's a good fit if you have excellent attention to detail and enjoy supporting employees and managers across a wide range of HR activities.
The role suits an HR Administrator ready to take the next step in their career. Alongside core HR administration, you'll get exposure to a broad range of people matters and a clear development pathway towards an HR Advisor position.
Working closely with the Head of HR, you'll support the delivery of an efficient and professional HR service, making sure employee records, documentation and HR processes are managed accurately and within agreed timescales. As your knowledge and confidence grow, you'll take on more responsibility for first-line advice to managers and for supporting employee relations matters.

What you'll be doing Providing accurate HR administration across the full employee lifecycle, including new starters, contractual changes and leavers Preparing contracts of employment, offer letters, HR correspondence and other employee documentation Maintaining accurate employee records within the HRIS, meeting confidentiality and data protection requirements Completing Right to Work checks and other pre-employment screening Monitoring probation periods, absence records and other key HR milestones Supporting employee relations matters including absence, probation, performance management, disciplinary and grievance processes Assisting the Head of HR with employee relations casework, building towards ownership of straightforward cases Supporting managers with absence management and return-to-work processes Coordinating recruitment and onboarding activities for a well-organised new starter experience Producing routine HR reports and management information Preparing and providing accurate employee and payroll information to the external payroll provider within required timescales Responding to employee and manager queries on HR policies, procedures and processes Supporting the review and improvement of HR policies, procedures, templates and ways of working Developing your knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice with a view to progressing into an HR Advisor role What you'll bring
Essential Previous experience in an HR Administrator or similar HR support role Strong understanding of HR administration and the employee lifecycle Experience using HR systems and maintaining accurate employee records Exposure to employee relations matters, including absence, probation, performance management, disciplinary and grievance processes Good understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice, with a willingness to keep developing it Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities Confident written and verbal communication skills Ability to build effective working relationships with employees and managers at all levels Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately Organised and comfortable working in a busy commercial business Desirable Industry experience, though this isn't essential CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience Experience preparing payroll information for external payroll providers Experience supporting recruitment and onboarding activities A genuine desire to develop and progress into an HR Advisor role What's on offer Private healthcare Cycle to Work Scheme Tech Scheme 50% discount on LNER train travel Hotel and restaurant discounts Team social events and incentives Early Friday finishes (performance based) Paid day off on your birthday Structured onboarding and ongoing training Clear development pathway towards an HR Advisor position Additional information
