We are currently looking for passionate, thoughtful and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees, including a Chair of the Board, as Deafinitely Theatre enters an exciting new phase of growth.

Deafinitely Theatre is the UK’s first deaf-launched and deaf-led professional theatre company, working bilingually in British Sign Language (BSL) and spoken English. We create high-quality theatre for deaf and hearing audiences, tour nationally and support the next generation of deaf artists through our youth and training programmes.

Skills and experience

Whether you’re an experienced professional or just excited about theatre and bilingual work, we want to hear from you. We’re particularly keen to welcome those with skills in:

  • deaf lived experience and strong connections to deaf communities
  • touring or commercial producing
  • finance, governance or senior leadership

Chair of the Board

We are also recruiting a new Chair of the Board, to succeed our outgoing Chair, allowing for a supported handover of responsibilities ahead of his formal step-down in December. The Chair will work closely with the Artistic Director and Executive Director to provide strategic leadership, ensure strong governance, and help guide the organisation’s long-term direction.

Remuneration

This is a voluntary unpaid role, with relevant expenses like travel reimbursed.
