The Artistic Director provides the creative vision and artistic leadership for Little Angel Theatre, shaping the organisation’s programme, partnerships and future direction. As one of the UK’s leading theatres dedicated to children, young people and puppetry, Little Angel Theatre is seeking an exceptional leader who shares our belief that children deserve access to world-class theatre and cultural experiences.
Working closely with the Executive Director in our successful co-leadership model, the Artistic Director is jointly responsible for the overall leadership of the organisation, ensuring that artistic ambition, organisational resilience and public benefit remain at the heart of everything we do. The Artistic Director will curate and commission an ambitious programme of work across our venues, on tour, in schools, communities and through digital platforms. They will champion puppetry as an art form, nurture artists and creative talent, build strategic partnerships, and ensure that Little Angel Theatre continues to be recognised nationally and internationally for artistic excellence and innovation.
As the public creative face of the organisation, the Artistic Director will inspire
audiences, artists, staff, trustees, funders and partners, while advocating for the
importance of theatre for children and the wider value of arts and culture in society. This is a unique opportunity to lead a much-loved organisation with an extraordinary history and an exciting future. The successful candidate will inherit a financially resilient, artistically ambitious organisation with an outstanding reputation and the opportunity to shape the next chapter of Little Angel Theatre’s story.
