Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualized Orton‑Gillingham instruction
  • Assess students’ literacy skills and use data to inform instruction
  • Develop and implement structured literacy lesson plans
  • Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, resource staff, and families
  • Maintain clear documentation of student progress and programming
  • Support a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Maintain regular, professional communication with parents regarding student progress, milestones, and strategies for home support
  • Provide detailed progress reports at the end of each term or grading period
Qualifications
  • Orton‑Gillingham training (Associate, Certified, or in progress)
  • Degree or certification in Education, Special Education, or a related field
  • Experience working with students with learning disabilities
  • Strong understanding of structured literacy and phonics‑based instruction
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Experience in a school‑based setting is an asset
