St Joseph’s College has a proud history of strong results within the Sciences and seeks to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Biology.
Part time (3 - 4 days a week). St Joseph's College is a vibrant independent day and boarding school in Ipswich providing a broad and seamless education for over 580 children aged 2 - 18. We provide a wide range of stimulating and challenging opportunities that our pupils embrace in both the academic and extra-curricular life of the College. The resultant all-round education develops our pupils into well-rounded individuals who challenge themselves to "be our best" in every aspect of life at the school, and beyond.
Science is taught as a combined subject at KS3 and then as separate subjects at GCSE and A-Level. Approximately 25% of the GCSE cohort follow the Triple Science option route at GCSE, with the rest following the combined science award. At A-Level, all Sciences attract at least one class set of students in both the Lower and Upper Sixth.
Application is invited for the position of Teacher of Biology to support the Head of Science in ensuring high standards of delivery of the subject at KS3, KS4 and KS5. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and inspiring teacher who has a proven track record of excellent teaching and experience of teaching Biology A-Level.
