Our T1/T2 client urgently requires a contract based Design Engineer for a high value, niche component project to be based along the M40 corridor, UK. The client is a manufacturer of high end, supercar level vision systems to include cameras and mirrors and is looking to establish and develop a UK based engineering and design team.
Please note that whilst there is no visa assistance available on this role, there is a possibility of EU passport holders being considered as our client is based within the EU. As a result, there is also the potential for the role to be outside IR35, but not confirmed. Applications will not be accepted from outside of EU & UK.
The Design Engineer:
The successful candidate will be expected to have 5 to 10 years of automotive and/or motorsport experience, ideally with some broad whole vehicle work, allowing them to take some design responsibility for supercar level automotive projects. The candidates will be expected to have a wide range of design and engineering experience, including as many as possible of the following:
- Minimum of 6 years in active use of CATIA V5/V6 in a motorsport/supercar environment
- Whole vehicle concept and layout
- Exterior component design - experience with vision systems will give an advantage
- Design of composite structures (structural/non-structural) and associated tooling
- A broad understanding of exterior aerodynamics would be an advantage
- Experience of direct working with supercar OEMs (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bentley, AML, McLaren, Koenigsegg etc.) would be an advantage
The role will involve working in a small multi-cultural team spread across two locations and some customer-facing activities but will still be a hands-on role with CAD design on Catia V5. The role may also involve some foreign travel to existing and new clients.
