About the Role
We are seeking an organised, reliable, and professional Medical Secretary to join our busy medical practice. The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to clinicians, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the service and excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing appointments, referrals, and patient correspondence
- Audio and/or digital typing of medical letters and reports
- Maintaining accurate patient records and filing systems
- Handling telephone and email enquiries in a professional manner
- Liaising with clinicians, patients, and external healthcare providers
- Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a medical or healthcare administrative role
- Excellent typing and IT skills (including Microsoft Office)
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
- Professional manner with good communication skills
- Understanding of patient confidentiality and GDPR
Desirable
- Medical terminology knowledge
