The predicted salary is between 15 - 15 £ per hour.
Location: Trowbridge, Wiltshire.
Hours: 38 hours per week (approx. 39.5 hours including 1 Saturday per month). Hours may be shared between more than one Support Worker.
- Monday – 6 hours (typically 12:00–18:00, may vary to 10:00–16:00)
- Tuesday – 8 hours (08:30–16:30)
- Thursday – 6 hours (17:00–23:00 or 18:00–00:00)
- Sunday – 6 hours
- Saturday – 6 hours (1 per month)
Flexibility is required, particularly on Fridays, weekends, and in line with Bobby and his family’s plans. Bank hours are also available to cover absences of the current team.
Pay: £15.00 per hour – Weekday day shifts (Monday–Friday). Sleeping night shifts will be paid at NLW.
Free DBS check, free parking, induction, relevant training opportunities (including The Care Certificate), regular clinical supervision/review meetings, ongoing support from a dedicated Case Manager and HR department.
Driving: Will be using Bobby's car, manual. Using own vehicle for work: Yes, on duty and to attend training.
Start Date: ASAP (subject to satisfactory employment checks).
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Support Workers who are passionate about making a positive difference in Bobby's life. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a young adult to live independently and happily.
Bobby was born in 1998 and currently lives with his mother and father in the family home. Bobby requires 24‑hour support and as such is very dependent on his parents. He has a passion for music and enjoys his iPad, music technology, books, and games that illicit sound.
Bobby has:
- Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI)
- Autism
- Mild cerebral palsy
He may require:
- Support with mobility in unfamiliar environments due to visual impairment
- Encouragement to use his cane consistently
- Close supervision in busy or unfamiliar environments
Bobby can become distressed in crowded or overwhelming situations and may display behaviours such as self‑injury or vocal distress when frustrated. He can also be at risk of running if anxious, so attentive and proactive support is essential. Bobby communicates verbally but may:
- Use technical or unexpected language
- Occasionally find it difficult to respond appropriately to yes/no questions
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting Bobby to participate in, enjoy, and achieve success in a range of activities/leisure pursuits out in their local community, and at home.
- To work with him following specific direction, providing guidance as required, and being able to use own initiative in order to ensure that Bobby has suitable one‑to‑one support.
- To assist with and encourage increased independence in accessing activities and completing personal care and daily living activity as advised by parents/therapists/case manager.
- To support Bobby in maximising his independence in all activities of daily living.
- To enable and promote him in pursuing social outings.
- To provide companionship.
- To assist with any personal care required.
