Location: Wokingham, Berkshire
Hours: Typical Bank hours will be: one Saturday a month for 5 hours, 10am-3pm and cover for absences of the current cycling team who cycle with David on a Tuesday and Thursday.
Pay: £17.85 per hour Weekdays, £18.90 per hour Weekends & Bank Holidays

Job Summary: David was born in 1973 and lives with his family, who are very important to him. He enjoys family outings, spending time with his children, being outdoors, riding his recumbent bike, playing golf and cooking. He is kind-natured and good company, but benefits from being notified of changes in plans well in advance. He also requires support to monitor his fatigue levels. David was involved in a car accident and suffered a stroke. Prior to this, he led a very active life. He is now looking for a Buddy/Support Worker to assist with leisure activities, accessing the community (particularly cycling, golf and the gym) and supporting him with his therapy programmes.
He is seeking someone who is:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supporting David in engaging in leisure activities
- Accompanying and participating in outdoor activities such as golf, cycling and gym sessions
- Cycling sometimes up to 50km in a day - please note an electric bike would be advantageous for the role
- Supporting him directly during cycling activities when required
- Providing support with therapy and exercise programmes
- Helping him access the community safely and confidently
- Monitoring and helping him manage fatigue
