We are looking for a kind, reliable, and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to support an individual with complex medical needs in a respectful, person‑centred way. The role involves medical care including catheter and colostomy support; full training will be provided, so a willingness to learn and follow care plans carefully is essential. The person you will be supporting is non‑verbal and communicates using their own individual signs alongside iPad‑based communication technology. Experience with non‑verbal communication, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), or a strong interest in learning and adapting communication styles is very important for this role, as building trust and understanding is key.
Alongside medical and personal care, you’ll be supporting someone who has a real love of steam trains. Sharing in conversations, activities, or outings related to this interest will be a valued and enjoyable part of the role, helping to enrich their daily life and independence. The position offers around 6 hours per week at £13 per hour, with flexible working hours and the possibility of increasing hours over time.
