About the role

I am looking for a calm and resourceful personal assistant for my 6-year-old son, to support him to get out and about and participate in activities he loves whilst keeping him safe.

My son is a strong, taller than the average 6-year-old, sweet and loving, who makes close connections with someone once he gets to know them. He seeks lots of sensory, physical input and is his happiest when exploring outdoors and being in green spaces. If you enjoy being outside in all weathers, this might be a good role for you.

My son can also display some challenging behaviours. Routines are very important for him and transitions can be tricky, so you need to be organised, reliable, adapting to situations as they arise. Experience of Autism would be useful, but an open‑minded person, ready to take the time and learn about my son’s needs is more important. Building a relationship with him will be very important.
