Overview


We\'re seeking a dedicated personal assistant to support our energetic 9-year-old daughter, who has Autism. She has limited verbal communication skills, but she always finds a way to let you know what she needs. She\'s physically very active and loves running, jumping, climbing, and hanging. Her passions include music, dance, and swimming, and she has a soft spot for chocolates, doughnuts, and ice cream.


Responsibilities



  • Drive her to activities (mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile) and assist with personal care tasks like dressing and undressing.

  • Plan and accompany her to access a range of activities such as soft play, swimming, visiting the park, and going for walks.

  • Provide companionship, offering a friendly and engaging presence, while proactively identifying and managing risks to her safety.

  • Assist with at-home activities aligned with her interests and sensory needs.

  • Other relevant duties as required.


Qualifications and attributes



  • Reliable with good timekeeping; able to follow instructions and work on own initiative.

  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised; fit and healthy to undertake the required duties.

  • Patient with excellent interpersonal skills; honest, cheerful and creative.

  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard; able to work to high standards of health and safety.

  • Previous experience working with autistic children.

Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours.
