We are looking for a friendly, dependable and compassionate Bank Personal Assistant (PA) to provide overnight support for a mum and her son in their welcoming family home. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others and wants to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working in a calm and supportive home environment.

There are 12-hour night shifts available, from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am, primarily to cover sickness and holiday leave for the regular night team. This flexible bank role would suit someone who is reliable, adaptable and available to step in when additional support is needed. A full UK driving licence would be an advantage.

Your main responsibility will be to support mum and her son with their bedtime and overnight routines, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable and well cared for throughout the night. Duties will include assisting with medication administration in accordance with the agreed care plan, providing personal care when required, and supporting moving and handling in bed, following the appropriate guidance and procedures. A calm, reassuring presence and a respectful approach are essential to helping maintain a comfortable and settled environment.

The household is well organised, with medication, pet care for the three Pomeranians, and other tasks associated with the night‑time routine prepared in advance. This helps ensure the night runs as smoothly as possible, allowing you to focus on providing attentive and compassionate support.

There may be quieter periods during the night when direct assistance is not required. A sofa is available in the living room where you can relax while remaining nearby and ready to respond whenever support is needed.

We are looking for someone who is kind, patient, trustworthy and comfortable working independently while respecting the family's privacy, dignity and established routines. Reliability and flexibility are particularly important, as the role involves covering shifts during staff sickness and holidays.

This is more than just a night shift; it is an opportunity to make a genuine difference to a family by helping them feel supported and cared for in the comfort of their own home.

Duties include:

  • Medication prompting/administering
  • Personal grooming
  • Moving and handling
  • Clinical tasks
  • Other relevant duties as required
  • Transportation
  • Companionship
  • Dressing / undressing
  • Bathroom assistance
  • Letting the dogs out and back in when needed, but no major care required for them as everything is always prepared
  • Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good timekeeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Creative
  • Must be comfortable with pets
  • Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Notes: All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required. If the role is offered on a self-employed basis, you will be responsible for the cost of your own DBS check.
