Personal Assistant needed for a lovely 14-year-old boy who is non-verbal and has special educational needs. We are looking for a caring, reliable, and committed individual to provide one-to-one support at home and in the community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with communication using PEC cards or a communication device
- Support daily routines and emotional regulation, encouraging independence and confidence
- Provide assistance with eating and drinking
- Help with moving, handling, dressing/undressing and bathroom aid
- Assist with transportation and participation in outdoor activities such as parks, walks, trampoline parks, and soft play
- Maintain a tidy, hygienic and well-organised environment and adhere to health & safety standards
Essential qualities:
- Calm, compassionate and patient
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Dependable, honest, cheerful and creative
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Proficient in speaking and reading English to a reasonable standard
- Respectful of privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
