Independent Forgings and Alloys have an exciting opportunity for a committed, driven and ambitious Logistics Analyst to join our journey to become the number one forging company in the world. Over the last few years, Independent Forgings and Alloys Ltd (IFA) have invested in the business and have successfully doubled our turnover and are continuing on this path. Due to this investment and growth, we are looking to expand our logistics and supply chain team.
Main Purpose of the Role
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for optimizing both the shipping information and material capacity within the Logistics department. The Logistics Analyst will analyse both shipping and material (on-site) data, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions to improve correct data and stockyard capacity, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of forged components. Additionally, you will work alongside both the Finished goods/UK Transport coordinator and the Material controller providing daily support and cover when required. Working hours are 08:15-16:30.
Main duties include:
- Analyse logistics data including inventory levels (stockyard), transportation costs, shipping data.
- Prepare regular material data reports.
- Develop reports and KPIs to monitor performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and departments and provide correct shipping data to the Logistics team.
- Identify bottlenecks and propose improvements.
- Prepare regular shipping data reports.
- Reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of forged components.
- Ensure accurate inventory records to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Provide daily support and cover when required.
Background and experience
- You should have Analytical Skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, organize, and manage time effectively.
- Effective communication skills with customers, vendors, and co-workers through a high volume of e-mails, phone calls and verbal contact.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel/Word/Power Point etc.
